Michelle is an Early Childhood specialist with over 20 years early education experience gained in Australia and the UK.
Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) degree at Macquarie University before working as a teacher in both preschool and primary schools.
During a 10 years tenure in London she completed her Qualified Teacher Status and headed up a Key Stage One Infant department. Her prime responsibility was mentoring teachers and supporting children young children with learning needs. Michelle is also a qualified Applied Behaviour Analysis therapist (ABA therapist), which assists her in supporting children with a range of developmental and behavioural needs.
Michelle has a special interest in early literacy and numeracy intervention and believes that intensive early intervention is the key to ensuring a child is given the opportunity to reach their full potential. At PosAbility, Michelle works as an educational consultant and Intensive Program Manager with primary aged children and is particularly skilled in identifying a student’s needs to set SMART goals, and in designing and delivering a customised program that draws on evidence-based methods to meet a child’s individual needs.
Michelle easily develops rapport with all children through her friendly nature and strong behaviour management skills, drawing on positive methods to motivate and support children to attend and engage in their lessons. Michelle has experience in working with children with a range of special needs, including developmental delay, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, ADHD and Dysgraphia.
