Kasey moved to Australia, from the United Kingdom, two years ago and has worked at the PosAbility Psychology and Learning Clinic as an Educational Consultant for the past year. She has over 10 years of experience working with individuals with learning difficulties and currently specialises in teaching primary level literacy and numeracy.
Her degree in psychology (BSc Hons) focused on child development and provided the perfect stepping stone into special education. Since graduating, Kasey has worked all over the world with students of all ages and backgrounds. Her most rewarding roles include: teaching English as a foreign language in Sri Lankan schools and orphanages, teaching basic communication skills to non-verbal children with ASD and educating children on the importance of conservation while volunteering for the Sea Turtle Protection Society of Greece.
The majority of Kasey’s career has been in designing and implementing individualised learning programmes. Kasey spent 2 years working as a one-to-one clinician implementing learning programmes developed by others. She then made the jump to Educational Consultant 5 years ago and began to design her own individualised programmes. In this time, Kasey has also worked to deliver in depth training to other special education professionals through workshops and on the job training.
Kasey works with children of all abilities, but specialises in working with students with Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and ASD.
Her sessions use multi-sensory teaching and a variety of clinically proven methods to ensure students are taught in a way that suits their learning style.
