Alexandra McGill is an experienced teacher and educational consultant that has a special interest in teaching children with learning difficulties. She has over five years experience as a high school classroom teacher within a mainstream high school setting with qualifications as a registered Proficient Teacher in English, History and English as a second language. Alexandra has undergone additional training in early literacy and has experience in working privately with children on a one to one basis with learning difficulties that are facing challenges in accessing the curriculum, particularly upper primary and high school children with Dyslexia, language difficulties and ADHD. Alexandra has a special interest in how the well-being of children impacts on their learning and having held the role of Welfare Coordinator within a high school setting, has developed exceptional skills in forming authentic rapport with young people and managing challenging behaviours.
Alexandra works at PosAbility Psychology and Learning Clinic as an educational consultant, developing and implementing individualised program to children from Kindergarten to Year 12 with a range of learning difficulties and special needs. Her interest areas and strengths include working with children to develop;
-Reading accuracy and fluency
-Comprehension in the subject of English and to transfer to other learning areas
-Written expression and formulating written responses in a range of high school subjects
