Heather has extensive experience in assessing, developing and implementing literacy and numeracy programs in order to meet an individual’s specific learning needs.
She initially trained and worked as an architect and interior designer. Following a successful career in this field she decided to take on a new challenge and commenced work as a Teacher’s Aide in a primary school Learning Support team. Heather worked in this area for 9 years and completed a Master in Education (Primary), then began work as a fully qualified primary school teacher. Her interest however remained in supporting students with learning differences, so she completed a Graduate Certificate in Inclusive Education.
Prior to joining PosAbility in July 2017, Heather worked for 7 ½ years as the Learning Support Teacher in a leading private girls’ school providing support for students in years 3 to 6. During this time, she regularly attended courses and conferences on learning differences to increase her knowledge and ensure it remained current.
