Jen has been working with students, specialising in students with special educational needs since 2001, having completed a Bachelor of Art in Applied Linguistics. For 16 years she has worked with students in the UK, US and Australia, working at Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes and PosAbility. Jen has worked with students with learning difficulties ranging from dyslexia, poor comprehension, ADHD and students on the Autism Spectrum. Jen conducts assessments of students and created individualised programs for primary and secondary students. She has also mentored other teachers and provided workshop training.
Jen is currently studying her Masters of Teaching (Primary) at the University of New England. Her interests lie in understanding the role of comprehension in all school subjects and how to provide quality instruction in comprehension as well as reading. She also strongly believes in education that will equip students with the skills they need to thrive in the wider world and continues to educate herself about best practices. Jen believes all students can reach their potential with a differentiated instruction plan tailored to their needs. Jen can quickly create a rapport with students and enjoys seeing students progress and achieve their goals.
